One story speculates that the community was called Old Brook, another states the area started as Hollow Brook. The streams and brooks no longer exist, but there has been some geographic evidence that a brook may have existed running from the northeastern side of the community toward the southwest.

      The area has undergone major man made changes such as development of new homes and businesses, negating traces of any preexisting waterways.
